Mumia Abu-Jamal

Hey brother, I remember you with sheer joy because every time I saw you there was a smile on your face, you were chewing bubble gum like it was going out of style, and you were either working to create a piece of art or working to reproduce it so it could be put on the cover of probably the most famous revolutionary newspaper of the 1960s: The Black Panther. You were a marvel then. You are a marvel now. And I remember you with such warmth when I worked at national [Black Panther headquarters]. You were one of my heroes as an artist, as a cultural figure, and I thank you for being Emory Douglas, and I appreciate you, and I admire you, and I love you. This is Mumia Abu-Jamal.
