Mumia Abu-Jamal

Dear brothers and sisters, dear fellow French journalists — Greetings.

We as journalists are those who tell the stories of the people to the people. My friends, let us think and consider our work. Who do we serve, the owners or the readers? Capital or humanity? As we gather, make friends and discuss our work, let us remember those who suffer. Let us remember the people. Let us remember the pen of Marat, L’Ami du peuple, dipped in the blood of his martyrdom. My friends, our work is not done. May we write with light, with fire and with love. Thank you, from in prison nation in the United States. This is Mumia Abu-Jamal.
