Khalfani Malik Khaldun

Hello. I am calling from Indiana. My name is brother Khalfani Malik Khaldun. I am an Indiana political prisoner. Today, I’m dealing with a piece called “Victory For a Victim: A Salute to Support Mumia Abu-Jamal.”

Systemically, the prison-industrial complex are swallowing up souls on a daily basis. The recent victory secured for our brother Mumia is an inspirational moment for us all. He is sick and is deserving of proper treatment, and having a judge order that he received it was great news to my ears personally.

For three decades, I have followed brother Mumia in his struggle. It’s been a journey that has led me to a political state of consciousness, changing me in many ways, compelling me to want to emulate this man who is audible and courageous, fearless, and extremely compassionate toward the downtrodden, homeless, and those of his people who are oppressed.

In his book, Live From Death Row, he spoke of and supported brothers on the inside who then was battling the same illness he is suffering now years later. What a coincidence, or is it really their plan to eliminate this very powerfully spoken, outspoken, man, Mumia Abu-Jamal?

While I sit in solitary confinement on yet another bogus trumped-up charge by the prisoncrats in in Indiana, fighting for freedom, justice, and equality myself, my brother Mumia Abu-Jamal, though I have never met you in the flesh, my love and embrace of you feels like I am standing there in my bulletproof vest, holding an AK-47, demanding that you be treated right now.

Mumia Abu-Jamal, you are not alone in this revolution for your survival as well as ours. The whole nation is watching, and they’re standing with us too in solidarity. I started this message with victory of a victim, but I must clarify that I don’t see you as a victim, brother Mumia. I am not calling you or seeing you as a victim, but acknowledging that there has been a serious injustice leveled against you, my brother.

Mumia, just know that you’re loved by us all. Get well soon, my brother. Stay encouraged, stay strong, and we’re with you. Power to the people. This is brother Khalfani Malik Khaldun, calling from Indiana. Take care of yourself. Peace.
