On May 29, 2012 the U.S. Supreme Court sent an innocent man, me, Lorenzo Johnson, back to prison for Life. This decision took place without the U.S. Supreme Court utilizing its normal proceedings. My Legal Team was not allowed to file briefs or have Oral Argument on our position. On June 14, 2012, I returned to Pennsylvania State Prison to once again fight to prove my Innocence once and for all.
Since I’ve been back to prison, my Legal Team has unearthed evidence that would have proven my Innocence if turned over to my defense at trial in 1997. Police Misconduct, Witness Tampering, Prosecution Misconduct, and Prosecution With-holding Evidence of my Innocence. On January 29, 2014, my attorneys met with the Attorney General’s office to discuss my Injustice. The Attorney General’s office agreed to do their own independent review of the mountain of new evidence that shows my Innocence. They also agreed to turn over missing pages of my case discovery that was NEVER turned over to us.
Well, the Attorney General has not honored what they said as of this date. I’ve not received any of my case discovery that they withheld for almost nineteen (19) years, or the missing page of a key witness statement. I just found out that one of my alibi witnesses, who got a “DEAL” to change her original statement to testify to a lie for the prosecution, is the lead detective’s god-sister and used to live under the same roof…. Now it’s clearer why she changed her statement and I still haven’t received the missing pages to her statements.
May 29, 2014 is the anniversary of an Innocent Man’s Life Sentence being Reinstated. Please join my supporters at our Rally demanding my Release in front of the Attorney General office in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on May 29, 2014 at 2 pm to bring an end to my nightmare. At this moment I’ve been in prison for eighteen and a half (18-½) years, two hundred and twenty (222) months, six thousand and seven hundred and fifty two (6,752) days of one hundred and sixty two thousand hours. Come to the Rally to help bring awareness of Innocent Prisoners.
