On April 30, 2026, approximately 9:00 a. m. attorney Martha Conley entered State Correctional Institution Pine Grove to visit her client Jerome Coffey. What happen next to attorney Conley was the unthinkable by officials. Officials illegally photocopied attorney Conley confidential documents violating attorney-client privileges. Attorney Conley was visiting her client Mr. Coffey for more than 24-years and this is the first time a SCI facility officials photocopied confidential documents. Attorney Conley is the first African American woman to graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law with a law degree. In a nutshell, 31-years ago, Pennsylvania Department of Corrections was photocopying Mumia Abu Jamal legal mail and sending it to Governor Tom Ridge [FN1]. After September 11, 2001, the federal government arrested attorney Lynne Stewart for refusing to comply to Special Administrative Measures (“SAM”) visiting her client Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman [2]. In closing, this problematic concern should be investigated by chief counsel Timothy Holmes immediately to stop officials from photocopying attorneys confidential documents violating attorney-client privileges.
