Donald Hooker (C-Note)

My name is “Donald C-Note” Hooker, a globally recognized prison artist. I’ve been falsely in prison for the past 28 years for a non violent wobbler and the California Three Strikes law. Currently, I am trying to drum up support for the movement, Free C-Note by Black August, a grassroots campaign for me to be immediately released, resulting from a 2016 California voter initiative, Proposition 57 which changed the California constitution, entitling nonviolent prisoners parole hearings after serving their nonviolent sentence.

I completed my nonviolent sentence 24 years ago, and have never, ever had a parole hearing. I only found out about all this two months ago when the Department of Corrections provided a document that states, I am a non violent offender who qualifies for the nonviolent program but would not be given a nonviolent parole hearing; instead, through verifiable document manipulation, {DOC] has scheduled me for the violent parole board that has an 86% denial rate.

Black August is a month long and memorial to liberation activists began by prisoners in 1979 at San Quentin, and is also known as the Black History Month alternative for freedom fighters. The Black August commemoration is the perfect moment to assist someone to earn their freedom. How can you get involved? Join the Facebook group, Free C-Note by Black August. It has more details for things to do, such as what government officials or agencies to contact. My story desperately needs a digital footprint. Tell it on your social media, especially on your websites.

I personally want to work with you directly, and you can message me directly through the GTL Getting Out app. Search for my name, Donald Hooker, CDCR number K, as in Kelly, 94063 [K94063]. Use the hashtag Free C-Note by Black August, and together we can end my nearly three decades long nightmare of being falsely convicted and incarcerated. Thank you so very much.
