As we live this life, it’d be wise to consider what realm we choose to live in: Heaven or Earth. So, we ask the question, what exactly is our concept of Heaven and Earth? Well, Heaven is defined as the dwelling place of the Deity and the blessed dead, a spiritual everlasting communion with God, a place or condition of utmost happiness, a state of thought in which sin is absent, and the harmony of the divine mind is manifest. That sounds like Heaven to me.
On the other hand, Earth, or what is considered earthly, often implies a contrast with what is heavenly or spiritual; the sphere of mortal life as distinguished from spheres of spiritual life; the pursuits, interests, and pleasures of earthly life as distinguished from spiritual concerns. Therefore, when we compare Heaven and Earth, it is obvious that Heaven is the state we would love to live in, but it seems as if the gravity of our sensual and emotional desires keeps us in an earthly state of mind.
However, there is hope for us, because we can elevate our consciousness to the higher parts of our spirit. The heavenly state of mind is peaceful. It is the stimulus of the forces urging us to honor our universal interests. The thing that stands out to me, in which I think we should be alarmed, is that our heavenly state of mind is opposed by an earthly influences. If we do not seek to be enlightened beings, we will believe that the earthly realm is the source of all things in life. The truth is we were made to evolve into heavenly beings in order to have a spiritual, everlasting communion with God. We were born to experience a place or condition of utmost happiness. We do not have to be ignorant of divine law, and exhibit spiritually unlawful behavior, causing us to be in conflict with others. We do not have to be controlled by our sensual and emotional desires. In our heavenly state of mind, we are upright in character and can be held in esteem as leaders of our lives.
Therefore, with knowledge of things that are divine, what state of mind do you choose: Heaven or Earth? I choose Heaven, and I choose not to let anyone take that choice from me. My name is Ra Atem Hotep.
