Prison Radio
Darren Stanley (KnowledgeBorn GodAllah)

Peace, this is KnowledgeBorn GodAllah you know what I’m saying. Allah School of Mecca, Officer of Cultural Management, Five Percent Nation of Gods and Earths. Calling on my radio station throughout the Universal God-life. And I want to make the public known and I want to make all the religious groups. Reason why I say this, is because right now, we, as the Five Percent Nation of Gods and Earths are practicing here in Solano State Prison.

However, I have requested, I have approached, and I have asked all religious leaders, from Imams to Catholic chaplains to assist us when I first got here, and they all denied me. They all pushed me to the side. I have a stipulation agreement from the courts, and signed by CDCR that states wherever CDCR exists, Five Percent Nation of Gods and Earths are allowed to practice and join in all religious program activities, as all religious groups does. You’re not religious, then a God centered culture.

However, as we began to practice, we have two sponsors, one name is Miss M. Comkins. And one name is Miss J. Woods. And so these two sponsors don’t know nothing about the Five Percent Nation of Gods and Earths or anything of that nature. Yet, they’re our sponsors. And they’re trying to put together a program to help us with our program. Yet, they are doing things in which they think, they feel, is a part of their authority, and they can say what is and what ain’t, and so that hinders our program in that aspect.

So, and then the other day, they wanted to question us about our assistance and our program, to the point of what we’re doing, and Catholic priests. I don’t know his name, but he’s the senior Catholic priest in CSP Solano. And we had already discussed it with the community manager and institutional heads of staff, that no clergyman will be allowed to sponsor us because of their biases. So our constitutional rights have been violated.

There is no TV programs for the religious programming here. There is no radio or newspaper programs for the religious programming here. There is no events sponsored by outside organizations for the religious programming here, which it should be. Just as San Quentin Prison, just as any other prison has those constitutional rights to practice their culture, their religion or whatever they may be. And that’s under the Religious Institutionalized Persons Act, as well as the religious programming, Solano State Prison should also have these activities.

I was depressed and I asked for all my listeners and all my people to call the Community Resource Manager. Call up here to the Warden. Call up here to the community resource, I mean the religious programming activity, and make sure that those people, whether you be Catholic, whether you be Jewish, whether you be Buddhists, whether you be whatever, get their Act program activities [Religious Institutionalized Persons Act], because we’re not getting it. I want to say that to y’all and I thank y’all. I bid y’all peace. Peace!
