…old cell that they had..have me in, and, uh, once I realized last night they wasn’t gon’ put me in quarantine, that they was gonna bring me back to my cell, I was okay. I didn’t care how long it ended up me bein, um, sittin’ over there in that cage waitin’ to come back.

Jennifer: Were you in a hospital?

Shaka: Yeah I was in San…San Lorenzo

Jennifer (murmuring): All the way by Doug’s.

Ted: San Lorenzo, wow.

Shaka: It was, uh….The, the worst part–and I don’t even want to say this, because I know how you are Miranda, um, but, they had me, uh, chained to the uh, to the bed the whole time. I was, ah..so I was uh, in restraints for over fifteen days. But, ah, um, I lucked out. They put me in the right spot at the right time. And a lot of people was getting sick around me [inaudible] the people here did they job, they was doctors [inaudible] and they helped me out, so…I’m back–I’m, I’m on the road to recovery.

Miranda (murmuring): Okay

Jennifer: How was your care in the hospital? Did you feel like you got, um, you got decent food, did they–were they nice to you? I know the chains–I know that’s rough, it’s hard to get better when you’re shackled. But aside from that, how was the care?

Shaka: [overlapping, inaudible] The food was tasty. I mean, it put a shock to my system, because I wasn’t [inaudible]. That was in itself a shock to my system. First when I got there I was picky, I was just eatin’ here and there. But last coupla days I was there I ate everything on the tray. I even ate the green beans, and you would be proud of me for that, Miranda, because you know how I am about that.

[laughter]

Jennifer (overlapping): We’re proud.

Miranda: I’m very proud of you, Shaka.

Shaka: [overlapping, inaudible]…just trying to get my strength back up and get, get back. So look, I, I don’t know how much time I’m gonna have, because I just [inaudible] a few minutes, but I will call back tonight at seven o’clock if you pick up the phone before [beep as call is cut off]
