My name is Dawnyell Flynn. I’m currently housed at FMWCC. My stay here, I’ve been here since 2019. In 2020, I went to religious services to speak to the chaplain concerning my time. I have 23 to life. While visiting the chaplain, he approached me in a sexual way. Me and the chaplain began to have a sexual relationship. After that, I introduced the chaplain to another woman because I was no longer willing to perform or allow him to perform sexual acts on me, and the other woman that I introduced him to actually told on him. The IGs came and interviewed me, and I told the truth. Once I told the truth about what happened to me and what the chaplain did, the chaplain assured me that he had people in the prison that works here, staff or whatever, that would retaliate against me for me coming forward. Since then, I have been housed in the hole for the last several years, for false write-ups, for write-ups that aren’t true, for write-ups that don’t even make any sense. They have illegally housed me in the hole for years, against the AR, against administrative regulations, and against SB Bill 307. They have housed me in the BMU. I have been locked down for 21 hours or more every single day that I have been here, except for certain spurts of the moment. Any time that I am let out the hole, they always assure me that I will be back because they’re going to make an example out of me for any other woman to not come forward with the sexual abuse that is going on. I have been on suicide watch twice. I have been beaten and hospitalized once, and I have went to the hospital for a mini-stroke, a TIA from stress, once. They charged me to go to the hospital. I am still now paying that. They have rules and regulations here that are set up in the prison for our safety, as far as we’re not supposed to be housed in solitary confinement for longer than 15 days in one 30-day consecutive period. They have housed me in the BMU for over six months, and they have housed me in the hole for over six months. They have housed me in the BMU, excuse me, for over two years, consecutively. They are not following any ARs. They will let you know that they will not follow any ARs, and they are brutal, and they operate like a mob inside a prison that is controlling a brothel. The men here, the COs, they decide which woman that they want, and they go ahead and do whatever it is that they choose to do with them on the roof. Also, when you notify and when they tell or if they let someone know the PREA director or whoever that is, they sweep it under the rug. Our grievances are not answered in 45 days. It takes them 3 to 4 months to answer the grievance. They do not have a proper program to teach the inmates how to grieve, so most inmates don’t even know that the grievance process is even an option for them. So, I don’t know who’s listening to this, but I hope and I pray that somebody will come and do an investigation on Nevada State Women’s Prison, FMWCC, because this place is not following any of the rules, from our water being contaminated, to our food being not for human consumption, saying it on the packages, to not – for live feed only is what our vegetables say. So, whoever it is that’s listening, help.
