My name’s Larry Stromberg. This is my poem, “C’est La.”
C’est La
The barbed wire has me in its grips,
Cutting and ripping my life away.
I’m in a prison within a prison.
C’est la.
I gain my freedom
Or lose my life in the process.
Either way I can never give up,
For I put myself in this situation.
C’est la.
So I keep writing.
I keep reading.
I keep studying.
Keep speaking.
Keep fighting.
Keep praying.
Keep dreaming.
Keep filing in the courts.
I keep hope alive in my heart.
I stay remorseful,
Forever remorseful.
C’est la.
Pause and think about it.
This is Larry Stromberg, SCI-Phoenix. Thank you so much, God bless.
