Greetings. How y’all doing today? This is Faluch Bigsby. I want to start with a quote from somebody here at the prison, Ms. Robinson: “The strongest people aren’t always the people who win, but the people who don’t give up when they lose.” That’s from Ms. Robinson here at the prison. I really wanted to feed on that quote today and talk about some of the losses that I’ve taken in prison and the fact that I’m still a jovial, good person, that I’ve not let it make me bitter, goes to show reverence to God’s light inside me. Prime example, I had the police in the prison write some false documents, which, when I sued them for it, they publicized it like it was accurate, and then later admitted that it was wrong. Now the point is, is that the government said, ‘Yes, we did it, but we’re immune from civil suit because it’s not true.’ So basically, because what they said about me wasn’t true, I couldn’t sue them for it civilly, right? So long story short, I ended up going through a lot of trial and error. I got my teeth knocked out and lost a lot of property, and then when I sued, the inspector that did the original paperwork was the one who they asked for a statement for ODRC [Office of the Dept. of Rehabilitation] for their attorney.
So they went to the court and testified and they lied, obviously, because it was the original person that did this stuff, that made up the false accusations about me and so forth. Long story short, they took his word, and then I said, ‘Well, let’s get the medical records to verify that my teeth were knocked out and all the other things that took place’ -which the teeth have been fixed now by a dentist, so they have, like all the records. Well, the courts decided that they were going to go with the staff on this without reviewing the records. And that’s been a repetitive thing. Now, you should get bitter, but no, I just buckle down. I know that my day’s coming. I’ll be going home soon in the name of Jesus. I get to tell my story, and my story becomes God’s glory. So therefore the quote applies: “The strongest people aren’t always the people who win, but the people who don’t give up when they lose.” With that, this is Faluch Bigsby. I’m signing off. God bless.
