Todd Robinson

My name is Todd Robinson, and this is titled, “When Laws and Ethics Collide.” I was being accused of attempting to back my vehicle over two officers in a parking lot of McDonald’s in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, in the early morning hours of April 24, 2017, where I was unlawfully shot by the police. In the face of evidence, investigating officers decided that no security surveillance cameras inside or outside the restaurant captured the events, and that no cameras in the parking lot worked at all.

I spent seven years without a trial in the Allegheny County jail demanding video evidence, the initial incident reports of the officers, my rights to a speedy trial, my rights to self representation and much more, all of which was denied or ignored. Their willful and disgusting acts of falsifying charges against me, instead of the cops, kept me isolated in an Allegheny County jail as they desperately tried to break my spirit and force me into an agreement of probation in the hopes of silencing the question, “Did laws and ethics collide?”

February 23, 2024, I was found not guilty for the two counts of aggravated assaults, which was a justification for them shooting me. Farther [sic], not guilty for criminal mischief, which was the backing of my vehicle into it to save my life, suffering with a bullet wound and fleeing away from the officers – two additional shots were fired into the back of my vehicle – yet I was found guilty for continuing flight. I lived and I survived to tell the story that’s untold about an unlawful arrest, detention, conviction with the odds against me, but the will to keep going, please support me in raising awareness and placing the spotlight on an Allegheny County District Attorney, and together, let’s determine at what point did laws and ethics collide.
