Prison Radio

Dear Friend,
Solitary confinement is one of the most extreme human rights violations taking place in the United States today. Over 122,000 people are locked in concrete cells, cut off from human contact, for 22 to 24 hours a day. This is not rehabilitation. It is torture. And it is happening behind prison walls, out of sight and accountability. On February 20, 2025, Unlock the Box and Human Rights Watch are hosting a virtual event to expose the reality of solitary confinement and the devastating impact it has on individuals, families, and communities. Survivors, legal experts, and human rights advocates will come together to reveal the truth about this practice and demand an end to it.
