Larry Stromberg

Hello, this is Larry Stromberg from SEI Phoenix in Pennsylvania. This is my poem, “Second Chance Freedom.”

Second Chance Freedom

Mercy lights the way for the redemption of the guilty and the condemned.
I tell you, it’s a miracle I’m still alive.
Remorse, remorse, remorse is what lives in my broken heart.
Second chance freedom,
That’s not deserved, only granted by pure grace, mercy;
The merited divine favor from above
By the endurance to see daylight once again.
Especially those touched by a mental health disorder, as myself.

Petition after petition filed and denied again, and again.
Appeal after appeal filed and denied again, and again.
Clemency application after clemency application
Giled and denied again, and again and again.
Victim opposition against my guilty soul,
Heavy against my guilty soul.
A struggling ruling ordeal indeed,
Overcoming the madness to improve my condition within.

The door unlocks to liberty finalized,
For the angel of death calls my name to my everlasting peace.
I tell you, I hope and pray all is forgiven in a great beyond.
I said this over and over millions of times to myself.
Either way, second chance freedom, come forth.
Come forth, please, come forth, some way and some day.

Thank you, this is Larry Stromberg, SCI Phoenix. God bless.
