This is Champagne Song from solitary confinement. Please visit prairielanddefendants.com. This poem is “No,” by Rebecca Morgan, my friend and co-defendant. Please write them a letter.
No
What does it mean to always have a choice,
And to comprehend it well enough to embrace that potential,
Even with all the noise?
In this world, yes is often easy,
Doubly so for the flippant and the sleazy.
But to know the infinite depths of No,
Wild matrix where transformation roots to grow,
Boundless love and respect to the brave and the bold.
May the fire of you never run cold.
This is Champagne Song, sentenced to 100 years for anti-fascism.
