Larry Stromberg

This is Larry Stromberg, SCI Phoenix, in Pennsylvania. This is my poem, “Christmas Peace,” for anyone who’s struggling during the holidays. So, “Christmas Peace.”

Struggling during the holidays,
Incarcerated with suicidal thoughts.
Memories of the past control my brain waves.
I lost everything I love due to my sins.
Pleading, asking, begging
And praying for redemption.
There’s no choice to fall hard to my knees.
I may embrace my purpose still before me.
Without that, I’m doomed to my demise.
Let depression die in my mind
Because I want that Christmas peace
Every day that I shall live.
What a beautiful place in my heart to remain,
The wonder of a child
Where every day
I feel loved at Christmas peace.

This is Larry Stromberg, Merry Christmas, everybody. God bless you all.
