This is Larry Stromberg, SCI Phoenix in Pennsylvania. This is my play entitled, “There’s a Ghost In My Cell”.

I gotta tell you something- I’m not crazy, I’m not on medication. This stuff is real. I mean it’s real man. It started one night, at 3 a.m. I started hearing scratching in the walls. I figured maybe it’s mice. Graterford’s an old prison built in 1927, heavy mice. So, I just shrugged it off. The next night, 3 a.m., I started hearing tapping, and it got louder and louder. I figured maybe it’s the pipes. Like I said, Graterford, it’s an old prison, man. Next morning, I asked some guys- they hear any noises, they said, “Nah, we ain’t heard nothing.” So I just, you know, I just kind of forgot about it.

The third night, 3 a.m., I woke up, and there it was. A shadow figure that was choking me. I couldn’t breathe. I was frozen in fear. I said, “Help me, Lord, help me, Lord, gotta help me.” The thing roared and disappeared. I got up and turned the light on. This thing was real, man, I’m telling you. I don’t know how I slept that night. I kept the lights on. I just prayed. I prayed. Right now, I sleep with the lights on, and I pray every night. As I’m doing that, nothings happening. I guess that’s my only defense: keep the lights on, and I’m praying. I’m telling you, the supernatural is real. There’s a ghost in my cell.

This is Larry Stromberg, SCI Phoenix. Thank you so much.
