My name is Raymond White, and the poem that I will be reciting for you guys today is titled “And I Will Still Be Holding You”.
This poem speaks to the nature of humankind,
The beauty of life and death,
The inevitable cycle of what we are born but also exposed to.
Life, read it into different time chapters.
Death, that never seems to halt the course of our living time
By placing our innumerable souls into other bodies and new ages.
When time begins to wither our faces with age
And as our existences slowly begin to fade, I will still be holding you.
When the night fall fires the shooting star
Crashes into the landscape of this world,
And as every living scene becomes decreased
And dark black sea sinks the cruise ships of sailing
That attempts to travel into further beautiful shores,
My dear, I will still be holding you forevermore.
Even when the traditions of family neighborhood walks
Or lovers holding and kissing each other
Under a side crystal bridge of a 1000 and 1000s of beautiful stars
By pace and numbers at seven become extinguished,
My love, I will still be holding you.
When earth chaos evolves, begins to evolve,
And buildings begin to blaze and fire
And mountains begin to tumble
And skyscrapers in large cities begin to fall amongst us
And people’s homes are torn by the awakening of inevitable disasters,
Switching all of our precious lives away, I will still be holding you.
Even as the steel iron chains are wrapped around my wrist and waist
And the stress of staring at mountain stone wall
Along with wicked people that attempt to bury my hope
And scatter my soul left void and alone,
Battling within my own single emotions beyond the captive control
My love, my spirit, my arms will still be holding you forevermore
Until the sunset falls into a magenta sky,
And when the last eagle flies to cross the sparkling drift of the ocean.
I will be waiting for you, as I once was here with you forever
On this island of forest, a place for my heart and soul will always hold you.
