Prison Radio is dedicated to amplifying the voices of those incarcerated and advocating for their release. Our team of correspondents share their stories and experiences, and we work to bring attention to their cases and fight for their freedom. This includes providing legal support and assistance, as well as organizing and producing updates and analysis. However, this critical work takes a lot of time and resources, and we are currently stretched thin and in need of financial support to continue our efforts. In particular, we are focusing on supporting Marvin "Shaka" Walker and Mumia Abu-Jamal, both of whom have been instrumental in bringing attention to issues of mass incarceration and racial injustice. Your support helps us keep the phones and lines open for our correspondents and continue the fight for freedom.

Krystal Clark called in on Wednesday with a report about how WHV has moved her back to an unsanitary housing condition despite having a doctor's note. We have postcards on our website to mail to Governor Whitmer who granted clemency for four other women at WHV today. We know that public pressure works. We must continue to speak out on behalf of Krystal Clark.

Prison Radio covers a whole lot of ground. We record, we investigate, we litigate, and we activate.

Our core work is broadcasting the dynamic critical voices from inside - 50 correspondents called in this year, sharing their stories, hopes, and resilience. Amplifying their leadership is critical.

But it is not enough. We have to bring them home.

The second Noelle Hanrahan got her bar card (Lawyers Identification) she became co-counsel for Marvin “Shaka” Walker. She meets with Mumia Abu-Jamal twice a month, keeping an eye on his health and advocating for better medical care for his cardiac condition. She also continues her diligent work bringing his legendary books and recordings into the world

And we have not stopped organizing, producing updates, sharing analysis and turning out courtroom support.

Building a movement for freedom takes time and energy and a huge database.

The work is critical, overwhelming and exhausting. Noelle has been working 16 hour days. The legal work has cut into the time we would have spent asking for support.

It is a hard balance: freedom and capital fuel. Both are critical.

We are super broke, stretched thin, but that does not mean that we won’t keep going. We just need help from our supporters to carry us home.

We need your help more than ever because this year the work on the ground is so immediate, so close to freedom.
