This is Lisa Strawn, and I want to bring awareness to Wall City Magazine at San Quentin Prison. I would like to bring awareness to a publication circulated by inmates at San Quentin Prison in California. Wall City Magazine is produced and written by the inmates of San Quentin News. The name Wall City comes from the first newspaper published in the 1930s at the San Quentin Prison.
Since the prison is surrounded by walls and lives in a small community, the name Wall City is appropriate. The next edition of The Wall City will be totally dedicated to women and transgender inmates in prison. The Friends of San Quentin News is an affiliated nonprofit that raises funds to facilitate publication and distribution.
Anyone wishing to get a copy or copies can go to www.sanquentinnews.com. Contributions may be tax deductible. You can also write Friends at San Quentin News and mail to PO Box 494 San Quentin, California, 94964. So, please support all involved with the Wall City Magazine. Thank you, Lisa Strawn, Wall City Magazine.
