Steven Lynn Nicholson, here again in Jackson, Michigan. Got a couple of new entries for you today. Again, always, always donate and support and love prisonradio.org for all the great work they do, and prisoner Creative Arts Project in Michigan, University of Michigan. They’re also awesome. Great people. Love them always will.

The first poem. I’m gonna call it “Steven’s Acrostic Poem.” Yeah. So, yeah, look up acrostic if you don’t know what it is. So, it’s my name, Steven, S, T, E, V, E, N, so —

S, steady, rocking, progress. Ain’t stopping
T, troglodytes. Try blocking. Still. I’m topping
E, easy squeeze toppings on top of everything at every eatery.
V, veal for me, red meat ain’t sweet. It’s vanquishing.
E, enemies, caloric and poison, I oh boy ’em,
N never destroy him, because I’m not no one.
I’m someone: Nicholson.

That’s “Steven’s Acrostic Poem.”

This is a poem I call it “Aw, Hell Nah”. It’s a two-word mystery poem. I was given two words and supposed to make a poem out of them. It’s supposed to be kind of humorous, but I of course, had to turn it serious. So, it’s “Aw, Hell Nah”.

My waiter was a bias elephant
Who sliced my steak on the bias
When he walked by us.
I ain’t asked for that.
I feel like I’m at Olive Garden.
This elephant and me now have beef
Because he cut my beef,
But the jokes on him
‘Cause he smelled like he cut the cheese,
And I just player-hated on him to the girl he tried to mack on.
Yeah, I did it.
We got beef.
But he still tried to get his mack on.
But when he sat down,
Everything around fell down.
Now here’s a change in how this story is going down.
The elephant is in the room.
Perpetual doom will ensue from hateful bias,
Which cuts people down like my steak on the bias.
Big brother, hey elephant, your mother.
You can’t continue to deride us.
No dice, cuz, like when I shot craps
Behind Myer on 6 mile and Meyers.
Elephant, phantom trap,
The broken system just broke another’s back.
Tyree ain’t coming back.
Those cops, the Memphis trash,
Blue and black,
My mom,
My man’s less than 100 feet from his mom and dad.
Hey, elephant.
We will never forget.
Now we are biased.
You bet.
Yeah, you bet.
You lose.
House rules.

That’s “Aw, Hell Nah”.
