It is not enough just to survive great adversities. We must also share what we have learned in the process so that we may prevent a recurrence. Otherwise, we only widen the scope of the adversities, creating a singularity into which ever more lives will tumble. In adverse circumstances, every creature becomes something else, evolving or devolving. What makes us human is that we know what we once were and, let us hope, we remember how to change back.
Currently, and purely as a theory that no other can compare with, all people should be enabled to be disinterested, trained to be rulers not of others, but each of their own self. This is liberty raw and unfettered by trite politics, not swayed by greed or avarice nor other follies of the despot. Anarchistic? It is the most high ideal of those who dare to call themselves civilized. It is also, therefore, among the greatest fears, the bane of all those invested in government of any kind, or financial institutions, or the slowly blossoming technocratic fiefdoms; parasites who feed on the servitude of humanity quietly and only barely noticed. Some are driven by greed to gain wealth by and in all ways, and those with the most wealth tend to covet twice as much. Such powerful peoples will always bring down nations. An empire built on power cannot attract the affections and loyalty that people bestow willingly on a regime of ideas and beauty, which itself would never be imperial.
Is the foundation stone of all morality not the regard for all human rights? Know this then, that it has crumbled and fallen away. Sooner or later, if the activity of the mind is restricted anywhere, it will cease to function, even where it is allowed to be free. My name is David Annarelli.
