Biography

David Annarelli is a father, musician, and a writer currently located at Lawrenceville Correctional Center in Virginia and has been incarcerated since 2016. Anarelli writes on a variety of topics, from wrongful conviction to parenting from prison and more. Anarelli’s work brings awareness to his case, which is full of police brutality, judicial misconduct and mental health neglect. His articles have been published in a plethora of online journals notably for the Prison Journalism Project. Annarelli has released two studio albums under the name Wheelchair Full of Old Men and his song “Reflections From a Cement Box” uses spoken word from behind bars to recount his experience with arrest and excessive sentencing. Annarelli uses his personal experiences to call for an immediate change in the prison system of abuse.
