Biography
Stephen Allwine was an elder and deacon in his church in Cottage Grove, Minnesota. In February 2018, the jury took only 8 hours of deliberation to find him guilty of the homicide of his wife. The case was extremely complex, dramatic, and garnered a lot of media attention. Much of Allwine’s conviction relied on the word of Mark Lanterman, whose forensic and computer science investigation allegedly proved that this murder was premeditated by Allwine. However, since Stephen’s conviction, much evidence has come to light that Lanterman is not a reliable source – that he falsified his degrees and has been proven to lie repeatedly in 1000s of cases around the country. Stephen delivers a compelling commentary to Prison Radio citing his innocence and condemning the judicial system for dismissing his multiple appeals for a retrial.
