Biography
Andraus McCloud was wrongfully convicted in 2007 of aiding and abetting an individual and 2nd degree murder, but acquitted of all gun charges. The individual he was accused of aiding came forward 5 years ago confessing that Andraus was, in fact, not involved. Andraus’ sentencing judge, Archie Hayman, became an attorney who, after reviewing evidence he was formerly not privy to, came to the conclusion that Andraus is innocent and offered to represent Andraus in efforts to exonerate him. There was also evidence of police officers involved in Andraus’ case tampering with evidence. Andraus refuted the forensic evidence used in his case, a claim that was backed by UC Irvine professor William C. Thompson and independent expert Daniel Chan. Andraus has dedicated his time in prison to researching the legal system, attending MSU, practicing in art shows, and teaching art to other prisoners. Andraus has worked tirelessly to prove his innocence and exonerate himself after 19 long years, his commentaries here on Prison Radio work to amplify his voice.
