“Disaster After Disaster.”

In a matter of weeks, the novel Coronavirus known as COVID-19 has claimed the lives of over 75,000 people, the highest death rate in the world now in the United States of America. The federal government’s response? Don’t worry about it. It’ll be over soon. Let’s get back to work.

Even as men and women who do work in public service, such as doctors, nurses, orderlies, bus drivers, and other transportation workers, they’re well represented among the sick and the dead. Other workers are being asked to join the club. People are being asked to give their lives to save the economic system, for money is more important than people. We are watching a disaster unfurl right before our eyes, and it looks like it’s only getting worse.

From imprisoned nation, this is Mumia Abu-Jamal.
