Hi, everybody, this is Krystal Denise Clark. My inmate number is 435064. I’m in the Valley of Death.
When I say, y’all, this is the Valley of Death, it is, versus the Valley of Death Care. Death Care. This is death care. We have four deaths. Well, one was Jean Wallace, not too long ago, but we just had three recent deaths. A lady just died a couple days ago. But, make a long story short, I’ve been, I’ve been fighting for 15 years, begging and telling everybody how dangerous this facility—for all us, not just me. We dropping dead. Day after day, somebody is dying in here! All over the media, all over the news!
Miss Washington came in. I asked her, her and the chief staff, I think she is chief staff, medical staff, McIntyre, you know. She’s in the medical. I asked them, I said, “Look at me. Could you help me? What are you going to do to help me Miss Washington? You the director of the facility. I’ve been begging for years for your help. Now look at me.” She couldn’t even answer that question. She couldn’t even answer. I had seen state reps from Miss Washington, Debbie Dingell, and others, y’all. I’m just not doing good, not doing good. (Crying) I just tired, y’all. I’m tired. The last thing you remember, you just keep on remembering the people that you know is dying, dying right here, right here, close right here to you – that could have been helped. I can be helped, but, since me speaking out, telling the world what’s going on, and how they treat me, and how they treating us—this is what I get. This is what they do to me.
They ignoring my health. I’m the only one on ground can’t go to a hospital. They won’t send me to a hospital. When I go see the specialist, Dr. Ellison, he’s not following the order. They say you got to treat the allergies to the mold, you just can’t treat the fungus mold, you got to treat both of them. He will not. He refusing to follow the orders. So, what is gonna be? Me next? Me next to lose my life? (Crying) And I’ve been telling people for years. Now everybody want to jump up and do investigations when somebody lost their life?! You came in here and see me, (cries) choose not to do anything? But now look what’s going on. Now you want to be jumping all over the CD, saying this, you gonna do this, y’all gonna do this. I matter, too. My life matters, and I’m sorry to say this, I do believe my color play a lot in it, why I’m not getting help (sobbing) and everybody know how the world is. I don’t see color (sobbing) but they do, but they do.
(Sobbing) I’m just asking for help, y’all, before it’s too late. Y’all should look at me. I’m not doing good (sobbing), and it feels so good to call y’all because I miss calling. I’ve been trying to call [unclear]. I need y’all help. If you listen, this is Krystal, Krystal (sobbing). Do your job before it’s too late. We are dying in here and being ignored. The people who supposed to care about us, they don’t care. It’s all for show and act. I’m telling you, I seen these people face to face. She ain’t showed no care, no remorse, no nothing for me. Miss Washington, when she come in here, she run from me! I had to call, “Miss Washington!” She take off. What type of director is that? What type of warden? When I be trying to talk to him, he can ignore me, and you saying that you don’t know anything about Krystal Denise Clark – you telling the state reps. This your facility, and you don’t know what’s going on? Bull crap! Let’s not leave him out, he should be fired too! (Sobbing) I’m dying here, and I gotta face the truth. I could be the next person. You, just, it’s scary in here. We are dying left and right, three deaths, back to back. What is it going to take? So, is it take us all our lifes?
Then they want to come in—somebody sending people in. God damn shut it down! Please, y’all, there’s no fixing this place. (Sobbing) This place is full of mold, and it’s killing us! The food’s not safe. We still eat [unclear] cold, bugs in our food. We’re still eating that, standing in that line when it’s pouring down, scalding hot, sweating, and get up there and you get served some cold [unclear] food with bugs in it. Got us sitting over there in [unclear] with multiple people sweating, [me] sick on a walker because they took all my medication and still got me standing. This is so unacceptable —what they are doing to me. (Sobbing) This is so unacceptable. My son and my mother came up here about a month ago and you just see the hurt that he had to see his mother looking like this. My mother had to see her child looking like this. (Sobbing) And I’ve been fighting for 15 years, begging for help, and they’ve been ignoring it as well as me. Now everybody’s jumping up on the media when somebody die. When somebody die, they jumping up but we still suffering, we not even mentioned. (Sobbing) But I tell you what, I won’t stop fighting [unclear] every breath off my body, and all of you is just responsible.
You will — we will get justice. That’s what I’m going to say. We will get justice, and you, Miss Washington, the governor, the warden, you crooked doctors! You will not get away with it! Don Jones, you will not get away with what you’ve done to me, neither! Dr. Ellison, you will not get away or Howard, you will not get away! (Inhales) Miss Heidi Washington, you will not get away! Governor Whitmer, you will not get away! (Sobbing) How do y’all sleep at night when y’all see a woman is fighting for her life and looking like this, is sick and not healing, and you know it’s mold in the facility and you choose let’s sit here — and let me suffer. I wasn’t given a death sentence, but I’m serving one, right? (Sobbing) Under y’all watch!
So, something happens to me, what y’all gonna be serving?! A death sentence, that’s what y’all gonna be serving if something happens to me! I promise you, the people out there love me, and my family, would not let this happen and not let y’all get away with it—not on they watch! (Sobbing) [unclear] We’re doing the right thing here. And y’all know it’s serious. My health it took a turn for the worse and I’m trying to fight it and stay strong every day for my kids, my family, so grand baby see me.
(Sobbing) So, I’m asking you, Miss Washington and Governor, to do the right thing. I’m not even want to say this in a bad way because people got murder cases you let go, and I’m not saying they’re bad people because they deserve to go. I got 17 and a half years for something I didn’t do, and nobody [unclear]. I’m not a threat, and y’all know I’m not a threat. I’m a good person so I’m asking you to let me go, so I can get to a hospital before it’s too late. (Sobbing) We do not deserve this! We do not deserve this and our loved ones do not deserve this. So, do the right thing. That’s what I’m asking: do the right thing. The world ain’t nothing getting better in WHV, the Valley of Death versus the Valley of Death Care. Nothing is getting better. They are killing us day after day! (Sobbing) They are killing Krystal Denise Clark, sitting here with the mold growing on my lungs on my body!
