My Prisoner Creative Arts Program [PCAP} out of University of Michigan. Song number three.
PCAP recharge.
PCAP recharge.
Every single week I need my PCAP recharge.
Art is sparked from hurting hearts.
PCAP pulled the broke about the dark.
PCAP recharge.
Every single week I need my PCAP recharge.
I was 14, but a flat top
Right before I rocked
On the block with my folks,
Still have playing cards in the spokes of my BMX
On my Dino riding wheelies down my block
Trying to duck all the winos.
A saved soul still became a lost soul,
Like so many in so many ghettos.
Now, I’m stat padding
Within incarceration levels,
A statistic driven system
On a mission for dismissing
Lower class citizens.
Slaves trapped within
Until the spark of light flashed
And splashed on them
And gave them hope again.
That prisoner creative arts program,
By the view of them.
Ashley, Lucas is so true to this
Holding us all close,
Just like some vice grips.
PCAP recharge.
PCAP recharge.
Every single week I need my PCAP recharge.
Art sparked from hurting hearts.
PCAP pulled the broke about the dark.
Art sparked from hurting hearts.
PCAP pulled the broke about the dark.
PCAP recharge.
PCAP recharge.
Every single week I need my PCAP recharge.
New PCAP students exist
Due to Lucas’ heart for this.
Love and sacrifice beating deep
In the echo chambers of the heart
And helps the mending of the heartless,
Refreshing cold hearts of the heartless,
Leaving broken soldiers breathless
As we start this journey to recovery,
Which can be so hard for suffering cats like me.
2015 was a pivot point for me
When I was introduced to P C A P,
Better known as PCAP, to you and me,
Us OGs, faculty and the facilitating rookies.
It’s all love in the family
Like George Jefferson and Archie.
Just ask Siri.
Check that last reference if you lost me.
PCAP recharge.
PCAP recharge.
Every single week I need my PCAP recharge.
Art is sparked from hurting hearts.
PCAP pulled the broke about the dark.
PCAP recharge.
PCAP recharge.
Our performances, they ain’t final.
They live on like legends,
Busting through that person to person,
Just like a proverbial Rhino.
How was the prison system so blind, bro?
PCAP opens doors
And restores humanity to broken souls.
And D O C, isn’t that rehabilitations goal
To open up the prison doors
And give us more?
Extra funding ain’t the goal
But I ain’t saying no
To seeing growth and development blow
How we stacking up better,
Like we used to stack cheddar.
I’m a better cheddar boy, baby, and that’s for sho.
A PCAP recharge, just like a Dodge Charger,
Running rubber up in smoke,
Leaving depression broke
In the dust of PCAP hope.
PCAP recharge.
Every single week I need my PCAP recharge.
Art is sparked from hurting hearts.
PCAP pulled the broke about the dark.”
