My name is Ekong Eshiet. I’m coming from – I’m from Virginia, but I’m coming from Indiana, at Westfield Correctional Facility. My state number is 304103. I got sent here after I sent my friend five hundred [unclear] last year, and due to me doing that, they sent me out of state on a retaliatory transfer here to Indiana.
When I was at RDC [Reception Diagnostic Center], the first prison I got to in Indiana, they told me I was going to Pendleton, but I ended up coming here to Westfield Correctional Facility and I have been in the hole. They told me I got to be in the hole at least a year before I’m recommended for a transfer. But I can say that overall, if I had to choose between here and Red Onion, I rather be here. In the hole we have the TV. We got the tablet with the phone on it; 24/7 access to the phone, and we could order commissary twice a month. So, even though the people in Virginia DOC tried to break me, I’m still here with the grace of God, and I’m still fighting. I mean, I appreciate all the people that’s in my corner supporting me and the people that have supported me, and I just want y’all to know that I’m gonna continue on the fight. Continue on the struggle. All power to the people.
