For Mumia. Mumia is a soldier of the people, a long distance revolutionary that has been, and continues to be, a standard of inspiration for all oppressed people and Black revolutionaries in America and across the world. But, I do not want to talk about his revolutionary credentials. No, this is a personal plea. Comrade, our dear brother, Mumia, is sick.
We want to implore the people to get behind the campaign to save this brother. He is at the hands of a vicious and brutal prison system that wants to see him die. But only you, the people, the people who have saved him from death row, the people who have freed political prisoners in this country in the last 15 years, the people who have brought Nelson Mandela home, the people, the Irish people; Malcolm X calls them the grass roots people. It is you who can save Mumia Abu- Jamal. Not the politicians, not the prison system, most certainly not the doctors and nurses that are employed by the prison system. So, this campaign to get doctors and nurses into the prison, of Mumia’s choice, is very important, very critical.
This is coming from a brother who has spent the last 15 years in the prison system. So, I can tell you firsthand that any kind of medical attention Mumia Abu-Jamal would get from the hands of the Department of Corrections would be minimal at best. So, we implore everybody to get behind this campaign to save this wonderful and beautiful brother. On behalf of the New Afrikan Black Panther Party, we want to say to brother Mumia, we love you, comrade. Get well quickly. Dare to struggle. Dare to win. Panther love. This is Chairman Shaka Zulu.
