How you doing? My name is Jamil. I just want to say what’s the measures my brothers, my sisters. I’m well, still striving, but in a whole new way. But it’s forward. I swear I never been attached to the battle how I am now. I never been attached to the battle how I am right now. The ways of the world will always be f**ked up, because the ways of the world have always been f**ked up. But the seeds that we put in them, must not be. Why? Because we are the forerunners of blood, truth, peace, freedom and justice. Even if we’re the ones that trial, we stand out for justice. Never can we give up on principle. I swear [unclear].
It’s like the great man, the great men, that came before me, and like the rest of our great men, they either my neighbor in here with me somewhere, or they’ve been left, but not dead. Mumia Abu-Jamal, Shaka, Matulu, Miss Assata, Malcolm X, Mr. Mustafa Malik Angel Haja. Surely their thoughts is ever living. The mind is that powerful, and so is the heart. That’s why love is stronger than fear. Only the fight that’s in front of us must be the full consumer of our energies; or we drain ourselves, our emotional clips, doing anything else. That’s why the fight that’s going on wherever else in the world should only be motivation for us to establish principle where we stand right now, where our feet are right now. Baby steps, because there are landmines in the field, especially when a battle is on; too happy, too sad, too angry, too this or too that, too much of anything, when you step in and the foot leave first.
The steps must be carefully counted, with your head up and your shoulders back, your eyes forward, being around because security is a must. Even if you crouching, slow movement is better than no movement. But don’t stop. Dear people, no, f**k that; dear Jamil, don’t stop. Attention must be in focus, and that must be in order. Your own perfect order, like time management. Everything gets its time, your mind, your body, your spirit. The battle is only won where one is spiritually connected to it. You have to give it all of you. You must give the fight all of yourself, because man gets nothing but what he strived for. Whatever that fight is, whether it’s justice, liberation, job, school, marriage, life, recovery; stagnation is only before up or down, but it never stays.
We must not stop, and only move forward in the best of manners. And that’s what an emotional IQ. I ain’t never let these folks trick me at my spot, through my emotions, and make me want to punch the wall. Why? Because I need my hands for the fight. Every fight ain’t a bad fight, especially when you focus. Your fight show you who you are and what you got in you, where you at, what type of scraps you got; weakness, how fast you are, how slow you move, your thought process in the middle of it all. I personally feel that the fight in front of us start with self. We must be the best us to be anything to uplift and follow humanity. We are that truck that’s carrying a lot of stuff. And if that bump ain’t strong, yet upon first contact, everything fall apart.
We must not stop and only move forward in the best of manners, and that’s being emotionally aware. That awareness is my armor, because me vs. me is the biggest battle, and once I get past me, then I know the world is mine. Why? Because you’re the most powerfulest person in your life. You’re the most powerfulest person you know. Who put your shoes on for you? Who feeds you when you’re hungry? You. Nobody’s gonna fight for you like you. That’s why I’m pro se [argue on one’s behalf], and I can’t stop, because nobody’s gonna fight for me like me. Be pro se. Be you for you. I ain’t scared that’s why I’m not gon’ stop. And I’m so grateful for the energy I’ve got. Thank you.
