Dear friends and comrades, happy holidays and welcome to a new year. As we all gather today – we do so across the nation – state repression based upon naked racism against immigrants from what used to be called the Third World. As this year begins, so too must resistance begin until it becomes a mighty wave.
And now, a few words regarding a Mexican-American political prisoner, Alvaro Luno Hernandez, or Xinachtli, who is also a remarkable jailhouse lawyer. Framed for murder back in the 1970s, he has worked to free others from the dungeons of the State of Texas. Check out the PDC website for more information on this brother who has been in solitary confinement for 20 years. Oh, by the way, Xinachtli is now encaged in a cell with no running water. Free Xinachtli! With love, not fear, this is Mumia Abu-Jamal.
