Dear friends, brothers and sisters, many of you, if not most of you, have heard about the court decision regarding Derrick Lee and the overturning of his mandatory life sentence by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. So, questions abound. What to do next? If I could give any advice, it would not be to wait. It would be to work, and that means to support those groups that brought us to this hour. That includes CADBI [Coalition to Abolish Death by Incarceration], right, the group that is fighting against the life sentences that have become death sentences in these prisons. It includes the law firm that headed the attack on this case, the Abolitionist Law Center, and her many supporters, like Amistad Law Project. Also, the Human Rights Campaign. Some are groups, some are lawyers’ offices, but all need your support right now because the struggle ain’t over. The truth is, it’s just begun. With love, not fear. This is Mumia Abu-Jamal.
