Hi guys, it’s Bambi again. I know that I have not called really, in a while. It’s been a few months. I was transferred to another jail in New Albany, Indiana, in the Floyd County Jail.
I have been watching the news, keeping up with things, and at least attempting to, and I have seen that our current president now, Donald Trump, has signed an executive order for the Federal Bureau of Prisons to immediately cease and desist of all transgender healthcare, meaning no surgeries, no more medication. It doesn’t matter if you were already on the medication. But when, if you are sentenced to do a federal prison sentence, it doesn’t matter, you, it’s, there’s no more treatment.
I feel like this is unjust. This needs to be heard. It doesn’t matter to me, of how many people hears it. It needs to be heard all over America. This is just — it’s not right. I believe that everybody has their own opinion, their own beliefs, even as a president. It’s a joke.
He has got 34 felonies, convicted felonies, and they still made him President. And it doesn’t make any sense. It doesn’t make any sense at all. It’s to me, it’s very mind boggling. And me being transgender and going through the transition and the stress that comes with it and the depression is; it doesn’t make anything any better.
And so myself, at the time being, my attorney advised me, my federal attorney just told me two days ago that if I do get a federal sentence and sentenced to federal prison time, that I am no longer going to be allowed to continue taking my medication. I’m going to assume that there’s going to be a lot of litigation off the back of this, to try to block and stop what he has done. And I said, that’s what needs to be done.
We all, as a community of the LGBT have a story of some sort of another, and it needs to be heard, because when you go without being heard, you end up getting this brokenness within you, and it’s hard to be able to try to fix that brokenness. You can’t do anything with it because nobody understands and the ones that do understand, they’re not able to hear your story, they’re not able to advocate for you. They’re not able to try to help you in any way, shape or form that they can to be that other voice for you, when ourselves can’t have that voice because we are confined within these walls that they refer to as the prison industrial complex. And, I feel like just as much as everybody else, that it needs to be abolished, every single one of them it needs to be done away with.
Our system is very corrupt when it comes to the LGBT community, and especially, more specifically, when it comes to the trans community, whether you are a trans woman or you are a trans man, every person deserves to be heard and to be recognized, to be treated equally and just as fair as a cisgender man or a cisgender woman. Everybody are human. We are all human. The only difference that separates us is our skin color, because we all bleed the same blood.
We was all created equally, just the same. And it just needs to be heard. It needs to be heard from anybody that is willing to hear it.
For those of you that are out there that are struggling right now because of these new executive orders, we need to stand up and fight, not physically fight, but stand up and fight and pull family together and unite everybody. For everybody to be heard and regardless of who it’s from, or for people to have the ability to be a legal advocate for people.
The county jail that I am currently in, I can receive text messages, instant text messages, like you were using a cell phone.
