Update on Mumia’s Vision

Sunday, Aug. 31st activists and organizers from three states showed up at the gates of SCI Mahanoy demanding adequate care for Mumia and all people inside the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections.

Mumia’s Vision has been Restored!

Action is Required because his Vision is still at risk

On Tuesday, September 2nd, Mumia received after-cataracts laser surgery on his left eye and can now see very clearly. 

Yet, Mumia’s eyesight is still endangered. He is facing what could be irreversible vision loss if he doesn’t see a retinal specialist and receive immediate treatment. He also must receive laser surgery for his right eye for after-cataracts.

The Phone-in Zap Campaign, the demonstration at the gates of SCI Mahanoy, and the legal work held the prison system accountable and contributed to the restoration of his eyesight.

Continued pressure is critical!

Take action because freedom is truly the only cure.

It takes money to do this work. In April Prison Radio retained an expert ophthalmologist. We are doing the necessary legal work to demand that the prison act, and act quickly.
