Sheik Bilal Abdul Salaam-Bey

This is Bilal Abdul Salaam-Bey, also known as Charlie Hughes, at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility at Hutchinson, Kansas. This piece is called “Divine Lessons: Part One.”

Success is having a deep sense of peace and we find the most peace when we live out our true calling and fulfill the purpose we were created for.

To succeed, we must strive or struggle for peace in our mind, bodies, and spirits. We create energy every day, but how we use this energy will determine our future success. We all have 24 hours in a day, and what we do in that time period will make a difference.

It’s always been said that it’s mind over matter, but one has to have a clear mind to make things matter. If your mind is cloudy, your judgment will also be cloudy and you’ll make poor decisions. The mind is like the body. It needs proper nutrition in order to maintain healthiness. What we put in our minds is what we will get out of life. Sacrificing your old habits, thoughts, and behaviors will be beneficial for your salvation.

Allah loves those who are persistent in doing what’s right, even when no one is looking. When you receive positive results in your walk with God, know that it matters. When we are different from the rest of the prison population, we stand out, and people will, more than likely, engage in meaningful conversations that can be conducive to our future success and prosperity.

Your transformation motivates others to do the right thing. There is a benefit in joining the Moorish Science Temple of America. That benefit is being able to be one with Allah.
