Derrick Gibson

Hi, my name is Derrick Gibson, uh, prisoner of the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, and I can’t breathe, because law enforcement officials have a foot on my neck due to systematic racism and racial profiling, so I seriously needed you to do me and yourself a reasonable favor and support the enactment of the George Floyd Breathe bill.

Law enforcement officials should not be held above the law. Law enforcement officials should be held accountable for their criminal behavior when wantonly and unlawfully taking a life, held responsible for their actions—as my life matters, your life matters, our children’s lives matter.

I can’t breathe. Time is of the essence for your support and fight for every last breath. Support the George Floyd Breathe bill. In solidarity, prisoner and author Derrick Gibson, prison number JP2190.
