Today topic is: When Do We See the Light?

And the reason why I picked that is because in the prison system, sometimes we don’t see the light until it too late. When we come to prison, we start seeing all kinds of light. And what we mean about light is success light. What does it take for you to see the light, to know that I finally seen the light, and now I know the reason why I am in prison, or the reason why I do the things that I shouldn’t be doing. Why did I see the light? Or I see how I’m hurting people. You can see yourself in the light, hurting others, doing negative things.

You could turn that into a positive thing. You can see yourself doing positive things. Seeing the light is a different thing to outside seeing the light. Men out there in the real world, because the prison world is not the real world. It’s a, it’s a struggle world. It’s a world that you learn things that you should already know, but you learn how to cope and conduct yourself as a human being. To learn how to get along, how to not be racist, how to respect everybody, their property and who they are, and just let them be they self.

In prison, we have a lot of young men that do come here, doesn’t know none of that until they be in here, and then they start learning. We take classes to learn how to be a better person. So a lot of see the light in a different, different way, a different positive way. And it’s a good thing, because if you don’t see the light, you won’t be able to see yourself, a thing that you know that you don’t want to be doing, that you feel that I should not do this. But if you see yourself doing it as a seeing the light, you won’t do it. You’ll think about it. You’ll be positive. You’ll think before you act. You’ll motivate yourself to be able to see the light.

A man that don’t see the light, don’t want to see the light, never be successful. But a person that do see the light always going to be successful. And that some husband, wife, anybody that you come in contact with, sees the light. So with that, my thing is, be yourself, look for the positive light, not the negative light, because you have to be the person that you know you are, and always be true to yourself and be true to others. Don’t make up stuff that’s not there. Believe in things that you know that’s good for you and your family.
