Amnesty International just released a report that was pretty grim about children suffering for their parents political belief in countries around the world. And I liked it your feeling on international year of the child how has this year been?

Speaker 2
The year in terms of what it’s done for children has, as far as I’ve seen, been pretty ineffective. And it’s brought a minimum of extra focus on the child. I think that we shouldn’t need a year of the child to to bring focus on the child, but you know, we had one and I don’t think it really did anything.

Speaker 1
So you think the UN year the child declaration was in essence a hype around the country?

Speaker 2
I don’t know if I go so far as to say it’s a hype. I guess they did the best they could. But I’m more interested in the issues like incarcerated children, children being abused, like even school lunches, even when school lunches are bad. That’s that’s even, you know, okay, if you’re trying to change something. I thought that it was just too light. It wasn’t concerned with the real problems. It was, it was kind of concerned with starvation, which was good that I think that was the only good aspect of it.
