On 7/7/2012, while working in the Aramark kitchen and cleaning behind the counter, I witnessed 16 live maggots crawling behind the counter on the floor, as well as a live mouse and roaches. This facility, and the conditions that we have to eat under, are very unsanitary.

I need as much support as possible to try to get health inspectors in to do a health inspection of the cell houses as well as the kitchen, because there is mold on the walls and in the ceiling in the kitchen area. There’s also holes in the wall where mice come through.
There’s cracks in the floor that, whenever we mop, there’s standing water and food that sits for days until it dries up, and it leaves a foul smell. Also in the cell houses, there’s mold and food and things on the wall.
The plumbing in a lot of the cells is messed up to where the toilets spit up by themselves and everything that had ever been inside the toilet—including feces, urine, and toilet paper—gets in the cells on the floor and runs out into the walkway and floods the whole cell house.
There’s not a lot of cleaning supplies that are passed out in order to correct these problems. The issues have been brought to the Warden, Dan Schnurr, yet nothing has been done about these issues.
